tech giftsHello DC Ladies! This month in Tech Corner I’m focusing on cool tech gifts. These next two posts will include five of my top picks for this holiday season. I did a lot of research and tried to find a wide variety of products at a range of prices.

I know that I usually have a hard time finding gifts for certain people, so hopefully this list of items can help some of you ladies as well!

1) Barnes and Noble Nook Tablet $249

It’s no surprise to anyone who knows me that I have been dreaming of an iPad 2 for Christmas. That being said, for half the price of the base iPad 2, the Nook Tablet is pretty awesome. With a 7” inch touch screen, this tablet has access to the “World’s Largest Bookstore” with over 2.5 million titles available. It has the ability to play movies, TV and even stream Netflix and Pandora. The tablet is also able to send and receive email along with the ability to add apps for games, cooking, news, etc. The most helpful thing about the Nook, and anything from Barnes and Noble for that matter, is that you can go into any Barnes and Noble in the country and they will help you with any questions you may have.

2) USB LED Beverage Cooler $19.99

I love this thing! You can fit one soda can in the mini-fridge and plug it into your USB port of any computer. When you open the fridge door, a blue LED light comes on to show your beverage of choice. This is a really cool gift for anyone you just can’t think of a gift for, or even a secret Santa gift at the office!

3) Compact Photo Cube Printer $149

I might have to get this for myself for Christmas. I just got my new iPhone 4S, which I am completely obsessed with, and I think this would be the perfect accessory to go with it. While this printer works with your iPhone, it also works with Android devices, making it super versatile. You don’t need to have it hooked up to your computer, which is even better – you simply plug your phone in to the top of the cube and select which photo from your phone you want to have printed. It’s a really good size- 7” wide- making it a really nice size for any desk.

4) Urban Ear Warmers with Headphones $35

The weather has definitely changed over the past few days in DC! During the winter months, I always feel better when my ears are nice and toasty, however I would still like to listen to my music while in the metro. I’ve never seen headphones like this and they are such a great idea! They are down-filled, come in black or grey and can plug in to any MP3 player that you or the recipient has. And who can argue with that price?

5 and 6) Gift Cards (Any denomination)

While some people may say that it is impersonal to give gift cards as gifts, I am all for them. That way, the person you are giving the gift to can really choose what they want! In terms of tech gifts, I would suggest purchasing gift cards to Barnes and Noble- for book and apps (if the person already has a Nook), Amazon- for a variety of purchases, iTunes- to purchase music and apps for Apple devices, and then Target gift cards are always perfect- you can buy anything!

I hope my list of items has at least given you guys some ideas. I’m working hard to find even better items for my next post. If you have any ideas, please be sure to comment! Have a great week everyone and good luck holiday shopping!
